First date disasters: A right charmer
My most memorable first date was a blind date lunch with a right charmer, who was running extremely late.
I got a phone call from him 20 minutes past our meeting time to tell me he was still trying to park and would be there in five minutes. It took him nearly half an hour more to get there. I'm glad I waited or I would have missed out on the rest of the experience.
He thought it was hilarious to tell the waitress that the salad I ordered was actually his and that everything else ordered was for me, because I just didn't want people to think I was fat. He couldn't understand why I was offended.
He expected me to pay for the entire meal, including his two beers, because he was paying for his parking and that was expensive enough. He openly mocked anything I admitted to being interested in, and then, to finish up, he asked one of the waitresses for her number.
It made turning him down for the second date he asked for very, very satisfying.
