Chisnallwood shines bright - mum
I have had two children attend Chisnallwood Intermediate School and can say that they thrived in the environment offered at this school.
Chisnallwood is unique, it offers something no other intermediate does, dare I say no other school in Christchurch offers.
But for Year 7 and 8 children it is a nurturing, exciting environment in which primary school children enter, grow and leave confident and well educated, ready to take on high school and the challenges ahead.
Chisnallwood not only teaches the curriculum, it teaches these children that they are capable of following their dreams and pursuing their talents.
Not only in music (although their music program is of a standard I have not seen at any other school and is an amazing opportunity in a state owned school), this school recognises individual talent, strengths and weaknesses and supports the children in their interests and education.
The Government should be proud of this school, should work towards encouraging and supporting the work done by all staff there and not be looking to throw away what is a true asset to Christchurch.
