Auckland gets a pretty bad rap around the rest of New Zealand.

House prices are higher than the Sky Tower. Traffic is a daily nightmare. Public transport is even worse. The population is growing so fast that the city is expected to outgrow its water supply in the next 35 years.

But die-hard Aucklanders will tell you it's the best city in the world. And they're not alone.

It's just been named as the world's friendliest city and is a constant presence in global lists of the top cities for tourists, sports, and quality of life.

So Aucklanders, tell us, why do you love it so much? The weather? The beaches? The nightlife? The job market? The community? The Blues? (unlikely).
