For whatever reason, we seem to think of living in substandard flats as a rite of passage. If you haven't stuffed a window frame with newspaper to stop it rattling, you haven't really lived.

We want to hear your worst flatting horror stories. Indoor rain, load-bearing mould, unhinged landlords and frightening flatmates - we want it all.

Whether it was during your student years, or you're still living it, let us know just how bad it was, and send us the pictures to prove it.

Was it character building, or would you prefer to have spent those years in the warmth and dry?

Do you have some tips for people still flatting on how they can make the best of a bad situation?

Hit the big green button below to make our blood run cold with your flatting horror stories. As always, we are looking for contributions of 250 words or more.
