Bruce Ansley believes he's found New Zealand's wildest roads and has written a book about them.

The book is Wild Roads and it showcases 60 of our country's wildest motoring routes, each article featuring images from photographers from all over New Zealand.

Ansley says, Wild Roads is not a guide, or a history. It is a story of New Zealand roads and, through them, other stories which show we're a nation of contrasts. The roads have been chosen not necessarily because they are wild - but because they are wildly beautiful, or lonely, or interesting.

Ansley already reckons there's plenty of material out there for a follow up book and we agree.

We'd love to hear from readers about other wild roads in New Zealand.

It may be that they are wild for their scenery, road conditions or simply the history behind how the road was built.

If you've travelled this sort of road and would like to share it with us, send your photos and story by clicking the green button below.
