Summer. We wait for it with bated breath as winter grinds into spring and the temperature slowly climbs higher.

And with the lighter mornings and warmer days, we're beginning to get excited that it's just around the corner.

So to get us in the mood for summer, we want to hear your summer memories.

For me, I think of time spent on West Coast beaches and long days playing backyard (and proper) cricket.

One of my favourite summers involved returning from London to my hometown for three months to play cricket, travel a bit, bask in the sun and spend time with my wife, family and old friends - a lot of it, with a beer in hand.

At the time it felt like it couldn't end.

We want to hear your stories about the great summers you've had. It could have been made so by a particular moment, someone you met or a life-changing event.

Bring some sunshine into other readers' lives by hitting the green button and contributing.
