Weddings don't have to be outrageously expensive or cookie-cutter bought. Often it's the handcrafted, homemade touches that make the day special and unique.

We're looking for crafty brides and grooms (and their loved ones) who have made big or little parts of their weddings themselves. People like Hokitika Journalist Rebekah Lyell, who made origami bouquets and boutonnieres out of purple paper because of her hayfever, and added two charms to honour her grandfathers who had both died.

Did you make all the cupcakes? Sew your own dress? Arrange your own flowers? Craft all your place names? Do the whole darn shebang yourself? We want to see it.

Send us photos and some details of your great wedding DIY ideas.
