America's Cup: What went wrong?
It was so close, we could almost taste victory.
In our communities, the America's Cup became the hot topic over the past few weeks as we dared ourselves to believe the Auld Mug would be back on Kiwi shores.
But it wasn't to be as Oracle came from behind in a spectacular win, crushing our hopes of hosting the event this time around.
So what went wrong?
Was it a matter of our guys being too tired after months of racing? Or did Jimmy Spithill just excel at what he does best?
Did Team New Zealand crumble under pressure, or were we simply out-classed by better sailors?
Was it simply a race of technology and money?
