With summer in full blaze and Kiwi families eagerly hitting the water, we'd like to hear your views on water safety in New Zealand.

Last year 98 New Zealanders drowned in our waters, the third lowest toll since 1980, according to Water Safety New Zealand.

Of those water fatalities, 87 percent were men. 

How can we help keep more Kiwis safe in the water? Why do we have such a high rate of drownings?

Is the demise of the school pool to blame or do we need more awareness among adults?
