With summer in full blaze, it's no surprise to see Kiwi families eagerly hitting the water but how easy is it to stay safe? 

New Zealand has the third highest rate of drownings in the developed world. In 2013, 107 people drowned and another 171 were hospitalised as a result of water-related incidents. 

So we'd like to hear your views on water safety in New Zealand. How can we help keep more Kiwis safe in the water? Why do we have such a high rate of drownings?

Is the demise of the school pool to blame or do we need more awareness among adults? What would you like to see done to improve water safety?
