NZ's best playgrounds: Omana
Map NZ's best playgrounds and win
As part of our competition to win a swing set, our readers are helping us map the best playgrounds in New Zealand. View the interactive map below.
Omana Regional Park playground is unique because of its Maori theme. The monkey bars are in the shape of a taniwha and the entrance like that of a marae.
There are lots of things for the kids to do including an area with a tire swing as well as climbing frames, slides, stepping stones, a see-saw, etc.
What makes this playground special is the neighbouring petting farm, where you can meet Bailey the goat, some friendly chickens, rabbits and even feed lambs in the spring-time.
We have recently moved to Christchurch from Auckland and this is one of the things our three little boys miss.
Public toilets? Yes, however they're at the first carpark as you enter Omana Regional Park, so a little walk away from the playground.
Picnic tables? Yes
Rubbish bins? Yes
Easy parking? Yes
