Wanganui's Kowhai Park is without a doubt the best playground in New Zealand...if not the world.

This playground has been around for many years and is a child's heaven. It features everything from slides to swings, a flying fox to tunnels, boats and castles, all beautifully painted and maintained.

The swings are creatively designed to be the tentacles of an octopus. A little train goes around the park which children can go on for a small fee. This park is a must do if in Wanganui - you would not find a child in Wanganui who has not celebrated a birthday at this park (and why wouldn't you with barbecues provided for anyone's use).

This park provides many, many happy childhood memories. It is amazing.
