As part of our The Warehouse swing set competition, we're mapping the best play grounds in New Zealand.

Rachel Griffiths submitted her favourite in Island Bay. You can view the interactive map below.

Our favourite playground is Shorland Park at Island Bay in Wellington. It's on The Esplanade right next to the beach.

The playground includes a mock wooden ship and is a favourite for children's birthday parties.

It has a really slippery, long slide that shoots children off the end so they have to be careful.

It has great climbing equipment, although some of it seems quite high to fainted-hearted mums.

Nearby is a fantastic fish and chip shop in case you hadn't planned to be out so long and want to extend your outing.

When the kids are tired of the playground you can head to the beach for a walk to see the local lighthouse or visit the the Marine Education Aquarium.

It makes for an awesome day out.

Does it have public toilets? Yes

Does it have picnic tables? Yes

Does it have rubbish bins? Yes

Does it have easy parking? Yes
