With the winter chill well and truly settling in over the last few weeks, we thought we should stop whinging under our blankets and start celebrating the beauty of winter.

So we asked our readers to send us their photos of winter at its finest. Richard Perwick had this to say about his shot from Lake Waihola:

I was visiting my parents in Gore from Western Australia and hadn't been home in winter for many years.

I had to fly out of Dunedin on a frosty morning in June and stopped to take this shot of the fog sitting on Lake Waihola.

Not bad for an iPhone 5s.

Have you captured a lovely winter moment on camera? Send it to us!
