What was your labour like? We asked Kiwi mums to share their experiences. Kathy Whitehead made short work of hers.

Most of you are going to hate me.

I awoke on Friday morning to find my waters were leaking.

I went shopping and had a shower.

I rang the maternity ward to let them know they would be seeing me later in the day and was promptly ordered to get myself in there, as I was a high risk pregnancy (twins, with one breach) and needed to be monitored.

I had just been checked over by the doctor when I finally felt a contraction.

That was it.

I was pushing and both twins were born naturally a few minutes later.

I would do labour for anyone.
