The reality of NZ's big dry

Drought: It's our turn, Mr Farmer Drought: We were prepared Drought a tough water lesson Drought before and after Drought: No more sunshine, please Drought: Still milking ... for now

Out here in Whitemans Valley do not get our water from the twin lakes and reserves like other residents throughout the Hutt.

We have our own water tanks that collect and filtrate water which runs off the roofs of our houses.

With two large tanks for the four to five of us, never has my family in 15 years ran out of water, and just like every other year we are no where near it.

For us, the hot weather is effecting the look of the lawns but we have plenty of water to last us, for months.
