We got married in April 2013 so we chose the theme of our wedding to be autumn as the trees would just be starting to turn.

I designed our centre pieces for the tables to really bring this theme to life.

My husband, who is an aborist, provided us with branches from a flowering cherry tree and my mother and I went on a huge shopping mission to find large vases like hurricane lamps and silk autumn coloured leaves to scatter in the bottom and glue to the branches.

My sister-in-law and mother worked for hours to finish them and the result was breathtaking.

Our wedding favours were daffodils and included instructions for planting and care.

One layer of our cake was made by my mother, one made by our very good friend and then iced and decorated by my cousin.

This was all homemade and in the autumn theme as well.

We had a magical day that we wish we could do all over again.
