Our readers have been sharing their picks for a World XI for tests. Mark Maffey's line up is a mixture of youth and experience.

My team is based largely on the test data from the last 12 months.

The bowlers in  Dale Steyn,  Vernon Philander, and Mitchell Johnson represent the best three pace bowlers at present. I've also included a spinner who is arguably the best performed in the last 12 months, with the second best as 12th man to allow for diversity in test conditions.

I believe it is a well-balanced team which would be very difficult to beat.

Graeme Smith, South Africa (captain)

Cheteshwar Pujara, India

Hashim Amla, South Africa

Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka

Michael Clarke, Australian

Virat Kohli, India

AB De Villers, South Africa

Mitchell Johnson, Australia

Ravichandran Ashwin, India

Vernon Philander, South Africa

Dale Steyn, South Africa

Rangana Herath, Sri Lanka (12th Man)
