Why do we penalise people for wanting to work?

These days for many, especially single parents, having more than one job is the norm.

For many of us it's the only way we can fit work around our children's needs and often the only type of work we can get.

Having more than one part time job is the only way to make ends meet.

Working more than one job is not optional for many and it's not about luxuries, it's about being able to pay for food and pay the bills.

Secondary tax is unfair and hits the people who can least afford it and is another obstacle in trying to get ahead. Getting ahead and getting off a benefit is extremely hard, and being done for secondary tax makes this even harder.

It is definitely time for secondary tax to go.
