Labour and National seem to only want to build and grant building consents for projects in areas away from cities.

By doing this they will have to build more roads (National seems quite happy to do this) or a mix of train/roads (the favoured alternative of a left wing government).

Why not break down barriers or even apply a sudsidy to apartment dwellings in downtown areas? Thereby lowering the cost of housing in suburban areas and decreasing the cost of further roading projects in years to come.
