Escape from Camp 14 by Blaine Harden is a shocking and disturbing account of life in North Korea.

Having just returned from South Korea and visiting the North Korea border I was interested to know more about the divide between the countries.

This booked opened my eyes to a life I can not even imagine anyone could endure.

The account is gripping and I could not put this book down. To think I was so close to where Camp 14, and many others, exist was heart-wrenching.

My thoughts often wander back to the horror that is endured every day in this country and the human ability to survive such conditions.

This book was not a light read but one which has forever changed my thoughts about the survival of mankind.
