I couldn't live without Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals' "Live from Mars" album. It's unreal!

I first heard it from a friend in 2006. I was coming off two knee surgeries which stopped me from playing basketball, which had been my life for 20 years. I got quite depressed as a result of not being able to play and the mix of the lyrics, the melodies and the music helped me get through this tough time.

I read a couple books about Harper's life and how he writes his material and it inspired me to get back in to rehab and training. I haven't looked back since!

My favourite songs on the album are: 'Women in you', 'I'll rise', 'Glory and Consequence', and 'Whipping Boy'.
