The first album I ever got was Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA back in 1984.

This is the album that made me a Springsteen fan.

I know it is not his best, compared to Born To Run, Devils & Dust, Darkness On The Edge Of Town and The Rising, but I think it's still a great album.

The title track is one of the most misinterpreted songs in history. It's not actually a patriotic American anthem, but a tale of a Vietnam veteran returning home to find that nobody cares about him.

Ironically 'Dancing In The Dark' is a song about not being able to write a hit song, and the video even made Courtney Cox a star.

'My Hometown' could be about any small town here in New Zealand.

Overall it is a fantastic album.
