Helping kids eat healthy: If you love veges, so will they
Tips for helping kids eat healthy
Children will follow you. They will copy your behaviour. Make healthy choices in your own diet and life and your children will follow.
Children are creatures of nature and nurture. They may have an inclination to prefer fatty, sugary foods, as may you. However, if you are able to, choose to eat a range of healthy food.
Don't make food a reward. If your child's behaviour is good, reward them with praise or other positive reinforcement. Food, treats or otherwise should not be a reward for good behaviour.
When you go out to a restaurant, choose food from the adult menu. Children's menus are so often deep fried, processed and without nutrition.
Teach your children to enjoy the food that you eat and not expect chips and nuggets. If you love vegetables and fruit, so will your child.
