ARE they or aren't they?
It's been a wild week of screaming Brangelina headlines and he-said she-said stories but it seems the world is no closer to knowing whether the Hollywood power pair have actually split up.
And now some cynical celeb-watchers are beginning to wonder whether the whole thing is one massive publicity stunt, set up to steal the spotlight at Oscar time.
Both Brad Pitt, 46, and Angelina Jolie, 34, have missed out on individual nominations.
Gossip mongers are also speculating that come March 8, the day after the glitzy awards show, Brangelina will set up a lovey-dovey rumour-scotching photo shoot and sell the pictures to the highest bidder, with proceeds going to the Haiti disaster.
That kind of "reconciliation" would also conveniently divert attention from Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, who is looking insanely hot right now and publicly cosying up to co-star Gerard Butler.
Could such good-looking people really be that clever? We'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, one dirty rumour – that Jolie slept with her voice coach – has been put to bed.
Howard Samuelsohn, was said to have bedded Jolie at New York's Waldorf Hotel, after helping her prepare for her role in Salt.
But Samuelsohn has dismissed the rumours, insisting he's too "short and middle-aged" to seduce the sultry star. "My friends thought it was hysterical... I'm 5'6, I'm 51-years-old, and I've never been to The Waldorf. I would like for someone to get the word out. (This) is total bullsh**."
Jolie's father Jon Voight has also waded in, saying the break-up rumours are complete rubbish.
The stories were sparked by revelations the pair had a top-secret meeting with Los Angeles lawyers in December. One group of "insiders" insisted the couple called the meeting because they were about to split and had to work out how to divide up their fortune – and their six children.
Pitt added fuel to that fire by apparently buying a $990,000 bachelor pad – complete with a cave – in the Hollywood hills. But a second group of "insiders" says the meeting was routine and the couple simply sorted out a legal document along the lines of a pre-nuptial agreement.
"They didn't talk to the lawyer about splitting, nor was that ever mentioned at the meeting," said one such source.
Another claimed they were "snippy" with each other during the meeting, but "Brad and Angelina aren't splitting right now. Will they be together forever as a couple? Probably not. It'll run its course, but I think they're fine – for now."
