Oscar night high jinks

WE'VE searched all over for the hottest Oscars gossip, so without further ado and in no particular order, here goes.
Miley Cyrus chose the red carpet to finally confirm that she's dating her Last Song co-star, Liam Hensworth. Perhaps her very gold, very grown-up dress gave the 17-year-old a confidence boost? It certainly boosted her other, ahem, assets.
Silver fox and Oscars' veteran George Clooney stashed a hip flask of Dutch courage in his jacket pocket, which he happily flashed at reporters on the red carpet. But not even the extra booze could keep a smile on Clooney's dial through the ceremony – he was repeatedly caught on camera scowling when presenters poked gentle fun at him.
Clooney needs to cheer up if he's going to have a shot at presenting next year's Oscars, which he's been telling everyone he's keen to do.
He could take lessons from the usually-awkward Twilight star Kristen Stewart, who was all grace and gorgeousness on stage. After the big night, K-Stew told talkshow host Jay Leno: "This is gonna baffle some people, but I was so proud of myself that night. I was like, `Whoa, I didn't, like, fall down or anything!"'
K-Stew also told Leno she's getting all cosy with her Panic Room mom Jodie Foster. The pair were chatting at an Oscars after-party, K-Stew said. "She's like, `You know, you could learn a thing or two from me. I think that we should maybe start hanging out.' I was like, `Really? I think I probably could'."
What else, what else ... Oh yes, newly single Jake Gyllenhaal was all over the show, spending rather a lot of time chatting up Olivia Munn at a pre-party, and later introducing the charming Rachel McAdams as the mother of his child –she's not. Well, at least he's over Reese Witherspoon.
Gerard Butler had a big night too, despite those pesky rumours he's hooking up with Jennifer Aniston.
Seems Butler was quite the smooth mover at Madonna's after-party, once he actually got inside. Victoria Beckham headed into the party just ahead of him but spent so long posing and pouting for the paps that Butler ended up sneaking past her, getting no attention whatsoever.
Inside, Butler apparently snubbed the other 300 guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and Penelope Cruz, to burn up the dance floor with the host. One gossip website said: "Madonna danced for four hours at a stretch and Butler joined in for a close dance. They shared a superb chemistry and it showed in their steamy dance sequences." Madonna's squeeze Jesus Luz was nowhere to be seen.
