Strangers settle

THE couple who tied the knot in The Edge's wacky radio promotion Three Strangers And A Wedding have upped sticks and moved to Canada.
When Toronto native Chantelle Swanson chose horse trainer Paul Court to be her husband from a faceless shortlist of eligible bachelors, he swore he'd never leave his native New Zealand.
But the loved-up duo, who had never met before they exchanged vows last September, flew to Chantelle's homeland last month. And while the bride's parents objected to the nuptials, offering their daughter bribes to pull the plug and refusing to attend the ceremony, they have quickly been won over by Christchurch boy Paul.
"Straight away mum loved Paul," Chantelle confided.
"She thinks he's great and they have built a fantastic relationship with each other.
"Our first weekend here we had a huge party for everyone to meet Paul. He did very well being in the spotlight and explaining the story over and over.
"He's continued doing his horse stuff over here and has found a great stable."
While Paul, 28, has got himself work, schoolteacher Chantelle is yet to find a job.
But the pair are seriously considering a future thousands of miles away.
"We're still very happy and enjoying being on this side of the world for now," said Chantelle.
"As of yet we still don't know where we will settle down but will cross that path sooner than later."
