With Ali gone, Blues must fill 'massive void'

Anthony Boric says the Blues are still in shock and struggling to come to grips with the news Ali Williams' Super 14 season was harshly cut short on Friday night.
During a Super 14 warm-up game, Williams, right, ruptured the same Achilles tendon that he ruptured in 2009, putting him out of rugby for months.
Boric now looms as his replacement as senior Blues lock.
"We are all devastated for him," he said yesterday.
"Somehow we need to get over this and replace him as best we can. He's left a massive void. It won't be easy. He is a unique talent."
Williams goes under the knife tomorrow and will take at least six months to recover from the latest set-back, but he has already vowed to make a comeback.
