Two pig hunters overdue from a jet boat ride up the Mokau River in Taranaki have been found safe and well this morning.
Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter crewman Andy Cronin said their initial search using night vision goggles and Forward Looking Infra Red was cut short due to weather closing in last night.
Cronin said the pair, aged 21 and 30, were stranded after their boat's engine malfunctioned.
''The search resumed this morning and the pair were located safe and well having just made it back to the Mokau boat ramp,'' he said.
