An application to open another off-licence in the New Plymouth suburb of Westown has been withdrawn.
When Hamilton's Manveet Singh, of Harike Trading Ltd, announced his intentions to open a bottle store in an old video store in March it drew strong opposition.
New Plymouth District Council enforcement manager Lloyd Crow said the property owner had leased the building to another tenant and Mr Singh had withdrawn the application.
There had been objections and it was waiting to be set down for a hearing, Mr Crow said.
