A truck has crashed in Stratford, smashing through a hedge and coming to rest on a fence near the town's Northern Dairy on Broadway.
A Taranaki Daily News reporter at the scene said the truck, which appeared to be heading south, had crossed the centre line and ended up sitting atop a fence about 1.5 metres high. The driver is still inside the truck, he said.
A crowd of onlookers was gathering at the scene after the crash which happened about 10.30am. Emergency services are attending.
The driver of the truck was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital. It was believed to be for a medical condition.
