Where's the fire: Damien Parker and Richie Kanara, of the Hawera Silver Fern Farms emergency response team, were pushing themselves to get that hose out yesterday. Their team was competing against three other teams for Silver Fern's North Island plants in their annual competition.
There were eight events involving hose runs, firefighting, CPR, chemical spills, search and rescue, first aid and more.
In the end, Hawera finished tied with Takapau's team in first place, recalling their winning effort four years ago when they last hosted the annual team competition.
The other teams were from Dargaville and the Pacific plant in Napier.
