Elusive windscreen washer Kyle Marshall Cresswell has been given a last chance to avoid jail.

The Corrections Department has been unable to find him to carry out a pre-sentence report for a historical burglary.

Judge Courtney said Cresswell was wasting resources while authorities tried to track him down.

Cresswell was told to front up at Corrections or he would be jailed prior to sentencing on February 4.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
