Taranaki iwi are set to sign multi-million dollar provisional agreements with the Crown this weekend as part of progress to a full Treaty settlement.
Representatives of three iwi - Nga Ruahine, Taranaki and Te Atiawa - are expected to sign documents with Treaty Settlements Minister Chris Finlayson on Saturday.
The signing is expected to take place at parliament and will involve financial and cultural redress.
A spokesperson for Mr Finlayson said Nga Ruahine and Te Atiawa would both sign an Agreement in Principle and the Taranaki iwi would sign a Letter in Agreement.
The next stage would likely be a Deed of Settlement.
