A South Taranaki man was subdued by a Taser after driving off from a police checkpoint near Ngaere on Saturday evening.
Hawera Sergeant Kim Severinsen said once police caught up with the man at a Hawera address he became aggressive and a Taser was used.
The man will appear in the Hawera District Court tomorrow on charges of refusing to give a blood sample, resisting arrest, failing to accompany an officer and failing to stop.
