Daily News readers have given an emphatic thumbs down to any future Port Taranaki plans threatening Ngamotu Beach.
After a letter-writer raised concerns that the port could use the New Plymouth beach as part of any future expansion, we asked readers what they thought of the idea.
Of the close to 900 responses, 81 per cent said they didn't want the beach touched and that the port should look elsewhere for suitable land. Just 15 per cent believed that as part of port land, it could claim the beach for its use.
The rest didn't have a view either way.
