Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust calls over the last week:
Tuesday, 4pm: The rescue helicopter crew flew to Hurleyville, inland of Patea, where a female was injured falling from a horse.The patient was flown to Taranaki Base Hospital for treatment.
Thursday, 5pm: The crew flew to Hawera Hospital for an urgent transfer of a child with injuries resulting from a motorbike accident. He was transported to Taranaki Base Hospital.
Friday 1am: The aircraft responded to Ihupuku Road, Waverley, to a motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle. The driver, who was being attended to by Whanganui St John medics, was airlifted to Wanganui Hospital.
8am: Tasked to Te Kuiti Hospital to uplift a male who was involved in a vehicle rollover earlier in the morning. Fog prevented two rescue helicopters landing directly at the scene. The patient was transported to Waikato Hospital.
Sunday 12:15pm: A motorcyclist taking part in a charity fundraising event for the rescue helicopter was uplifted from SH43 near Strathmore having failed to navigate a corner. He was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital for treatment.
