New Plymouth's Cobb and Co restaurant has just gone to the top of its class - it was named restaurant of the year at the annual franchisee conference in Auckland last week.
Melanie and Glenn Corbett, who have owned the restaurant since 2003, say they are delighted with their achievement.
"It's made all the hard work worth it - and we are pleased for our staff who make this all happen," Melanie said.
There are 10 Cobb and Co restaurants throughout New Zealand. C&C Franchising, the current franchisors, have plans to open four more restaurants this year.
Restaurant of the year is based on achieving the highest score in the company's mystery shop programme, where each Cobb and Co restaurant is rated for the quality of food and service based on 78 standards.
The award is also based on turnover percentages, and the New Plymouth restaurant achieved the highest turnover in New Zealand.
