Laid-off staff at Goodman Fielder's Hamilton plant will know by March if they have jobs in Christchurch and Auckland.
Hellers confirmed yesterday that Goodman's Hamilton smallgoods plant would close, causing the loss of 125 jobs. In January, Hellers proposed to buy Goodman Fielder brands, including Kiwi bacon and ham.
Founding director Todd Heller said then that extra work would create about 50 jobs at Hellers' Auckland and Christchurch plants. He said yesterday that details on those jobs would not be available until the deal was settled in March. Fairfax NZ
