MOST FM GIG PICKS You've had a few days to get over Womad, no excuses then not to see some of the great acts coming up this week! Start tonight at Decanta with Stephanie Piquette, Canadian born singer/songwriter based in New Plymouth. Amazing voice that is not to be missed! Influences: Amy Winehouse, Nora Jones. Friday night, Peggy Gordons has Stratford's best band, Mobile P Lab for those who like their rock hard and fast, and Matinee has a huge lineup with touring bands Diving, Karaoke Taxi and Daniel Boobyer. Tune into the Most on Friday at 3pm for a live session with these guys. Saturday at the Basement Bar you can catch Paul Symons & Shooting Stars band, supported by The Gazebo Girls. This is classy, mellowish, acoustic bluesy folk rock. Sunday, Paul Symonds is out at Rahotu, don't miss it if you are on the coast. Finally next Tuesday, recent Womad sensation Adam Page will be at the newly renovated and unequalled venue Mayfair.

MOST FM SAUCE OF THE WEEK. If like the Sauce you have just got over your Womad hangover, then let's perhaps complete a debrief on this year's very special event. Firstly, in our opinion it was a massive success and the keys to the city should be bestowed on all involved at TAFT. Why was it a success? A. It rocked. B. The event and its organisation once again illustrated everything that makes Taranaki and its people great; to every visitor to our region. C. It rocked. In this age of music festivals and events, many of which are tenuous in their festive event-ness, Womad stands head and shoulders above them all. So the Sauce would like to go on record as saying, that Womad must not be allowed to go to any other city (even for one year). The NPDC and those mandated to make the right decisions must understand that Taranaki can never ever lose Womad - it is part of Taranaki now. Also, venues to have your gigs included in this listing, email gigguide@mostfm.com by 5pm Tuesday. --------------------
