Reviving your bathroom space? Start by assessing your walls

Relevant offers

Designing your bathroom with inspiration and sumptuous detail is paramount in creating a beautiful sanctuary - a retreat to enjoy at the beginning and end of each day.

When reviving your bathroom space, start by assessing your walls. An option to freshen up your room is to wallpaper a feature wall or the entire space. You may wish to trim the walls with panelled wood and apply wallpaper or paint above, creating a warm cottage look. The design style you choose will determine the material, texture and colours of your walls. There are stunning decorative tiles available which add a real sense of elegance.

Lighting helps define your interior look and adds ambience. If you are designing an art deco bathroom, for example, add some pendant lights and hang them alongside your mirror. Frame your mirror with decorative mouldings.

When selecting your vanity, why not refurbish a thrift store find? Depending on the style, paint it in a high gloss pastel or, for a vintage look, a shabby chic finish with crystal knobs. Pair it with a vessel sink to add charm.

One of the best ways to maximise space and add a quality feel is to have built in cabinetry. Having a mixture of open shelving means you can create a visual display. Hanging quirky art also adds interest and detail.

Instead of your standard towel rails, hang hooks. They are easier to hang your towels on and you can arrange them any way you like. Instant chic!

Enjoy your sanctuary and enjoy creating a beautiful life.
