The New Plymouth driver who ran down and killed a female jogger will not have his non-parole term extended.

Matthew David James Kinghorn pleaded guilty to the murder of Anne McCullough on October 20, 2012, on Frankley Rd, on the outskirts of New Plymouth, and was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 13 years handed down by Justice Rodney Hansen on December 3, 2013.

The Court of Appeal has rejected the Crown's argument for a 15-year non-parole period.
