Hawera police were kept busy over the weekend, attending a number of jobs in the South Taranaki district.

Senior Sergeant Mike Hannah said on Saturday Opunake High School was targeted by taggers and a golf club was thrown at a car in Manaia, causing damage to a vehicle.

Hannah said police were investigating both incidents.

Police also attended three domestic violence call-outs in Hawera, with one resulting in an arrest of a 26-year-old man, who is due to appear in the Hawera District Court today.

Hannah said two residential burglaries were also reported, nothing was taken from  home on Hawera's Grant Vc St but a car was stolen from a Malone Pl address.

The burglary is believed to have happened between 1pm and 9pm on Saturday.

Police are seeking sightings of a grey Ford Falcon XR6, with the registration ERR759, and any information should be reported to Hawera police.

Hannah said police are still seeking information on the whereabouts of Matthew Edwards, who has now been on the run for several weeks.

Anyone with information about Edwards, can contact Constable Oliver Brooker on 06 2780260.
