A man was locked up by police last night after flashing a woman at Barrett Domain.

It was the classic case of a man in a trench coat flashing a woman, New Plymouth police Sergeant Bruce Irvine said.

The man has opened the coat, flashed the woman and she has contacted police, he said.

Police located and arrested the man about 6.20pm.

Irvine said the 34-year-old man was charged with obscenely exposing himself in a public place.

He was bailed and will appear in the New Plymouth District Court on July 9, Irvine said.
