An armed robbery, a suspected homicide and an attack on Taranaki Base Hospital's chaplain are the top three unresolved police cases in Taranaki.
On May 16 the Ngamotu Rd dairy was robbed by a man who pointed a revolver-type pistol at the shop owner and demanded tobacco.
The offender, described as a short, light-skinned male of medium build in his 40s or 50s and dressed in blue overalls and wearing a black balaclava, was brandishing a handgun.
A homicide inquiry was launched early last month after 27-year-old Opunake man Aaron Roigard went missing on June 2.
He was last seen walking along Waiteika Rd about 1pm and extensive searches in the area are yet to uncover his body.
Police are also on the hunt for the man who attacked Taranaki Base Hospital chaplain Murray Elliot in his chapel office on June 26.
The offender is described as being a male European in his 20s, standing 1.78m tall, with a distinct sunray tattoo near his left eye.
Anyone with information about any of the investigations can contact police on 06 759 5500 or crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
