Emergency services busy on Taranaki roads

Emergency services have been kept busy this morning attending seven crashes on Taranaki roads.

A St John spokesman said ambulances had attended the crashes but only one person had been transported to hospital so far.

The first crash occurred on Mountain Rd, Stratford, about 4.40am.

It was followed by another a little further north just 15 minutes later.

Then at about 5.45am another crash was reported on Mountain Rd, this time just north of Midhirst.

That crash was followed by another on Opunake Rd, Mahoe, about 6am. A 57-year-old man was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital with minor injuries by St John ambulance.

At about 6.45am three cars collided on Junction Rd, near Burgess Park.

Soon after another crash on Monmouth Rd, near Stratford, about 6.50am.

About 8.10am a crash was reported on Manutahi Rd, Lepperton. Details of the crash and the extent of injuries are unknown at this stage.
