Police are seeking the public's help in finding two modified mountain bikes, worth thousands of dollars, stolen from an Inglewood house.
Sergeant Bruce Irvine said the bicycles, together worth about $8500, were taken from a home in Inglewood some time in the past three weeks.
Irvine said there had been three other burglaries in the area in recent weeks.
Irvine said there had also been a rise in burglaries in Hawera last week, with seven reported to police.
It was a reminder to always be on guard, lock doors and windows and keep an eye on your neighbours, he said.
Anyone with information about the bikes should contact New Plymouth police on 759 5500.
