A plane heading to New Plymouth airport was struck by lightning this week.
Manager Kevin Hill said the Mt Cook flight, from Auckland, was on approach for landing when it was hit on Wednesday night but there was no danger to passengers.
''They don't even know that it's happened,'' he said.
Engineers inspected the plane yesterday and it was cleared to fly again today.
