Sportsman's funeral at hall of old school
The funeral for New Plymouth man Cameron Clow will be at his former school, New Plymouth Boys' High School, on Saturday.
Mr Clow's body was expected to be back in his home town by this afternoon after the actions of "people in high places" to expedite his return from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the family said.
Mr Clow's aunt, Yvonne Watts, said last night the family wished to thank all those who had given them support and offerings of food.
"We would never ever been able to manage without their support. We would never have coped."
All the offerings were gratefully accepted, she said.
Mr Clow's fiancee, Kate Morgan, and his sister, Gretchen, both of whom worked in Bahrain with Mr Clow, have already arrived home.
The timing of the funeral for the popular sportsman and teacher, on Saturday morning at Ryder Hall, would be decided today.
Mr Clow was killed in Bahrain on Friday about 7.45am when he was hit by the Bahraini driver of a Volvo car while out training on his bike on the Shaikh Hamad Avenue in the Diplomatic Area, the local paper, the Gulf Daily News has reported.
The driver was allegedly speeding and was taken into custody.
