New Plymouth's ultramarathon runner Lisa Tamati can sense home.
Heading for Taranaki during the North Island stretch of her 2200km New Zealand run for CanTeen and Cure Kids, she finished just past Maxwell in Wanganui last night after a series of tough hills.
She plans to finish 10km past Kakaramea in Taranaki today.
Tomorrow she will run to Ngaere on the way to Stratford.
The big homecoming will be on Tuesday. From 1pm Tamati will run with Taranaki school children from the foreshore at Fitzroy back into New Plymouth to Puke Ariki for a big reception.
